Obstacles to scientific research in Libya from the perspective of postgraduate students and ways to address them

This study examined the obstacles to scientific research in Libya from the perspective of graduate students and ways to address them (a field study of students at the Libyan Academy - Benghazi Branch). A stratified random sample of male and female students enrolled in the graduate program at the Libyan Academy - Benghazi Branch was selected from both genders (males and females) during the period 2020-2024. A sample of 354 students was selected from all departments and scientific schools, out of a total of 4,436 students enrolled in graduate programs in all specializations available at the Libyan Academy - Benghazi Branch during the study period. The study aimed to identify the nature of scientific research in Libya in terms of quality, quantity, expenditure, beneficiaries, and its alignment with societal needs. It also aimed to identify the problems facing scientific research in general and the obstacles facing graduate students in particular, attempting to classify them from the perspective of graduate students, and proposing solutions and recommendations.
