Abstract
This study examines the rules governing the relationship between the International Criminal Court and national judiciaries, embodied in the principle of complementarity, which aims to end impunity for perpetrators of serious international crimes stipulated in Article 5 of the Rome Statute. The study clarifies the legal nature of this relationship and the reasons for its adoption, in addition to the implications of the principle of complementarity and the problems associated with this principle. The study concludes with the most important findings and recommendations.
