Obstacles preventing the implementation of electronic management in public banking institutions
The paper addresses the most
significant obstacles that could hinder the implementation of e-governance in
public banking institutions. The objective of this study was to identify the
obstacles these institutions may face during the actual implementation of the
concept of e-governance. The researcher employed a descriptive and analytical
approach, focusing on collecting and analyzing sufficient and accurate
information about the phenomenon or subject of the study. The study was limited
to a purposive sample of branches of the Republic Bank in the city of Sabratha,
due to the possibility of obtaining information from these branches. After
conducting the statistical analysis, the study reached a set of results, the
most important of which is the existence of a statistically significant
relationship between administrative obstacles and the implementation of
e-governance in public banking institutions operating in the Sabratha
municipality, which represents 75% of the total. The study also highlights the
lack of communication services via the internal internet network, one of the
most important factors for implementing e-governance in the aforementioned
banks, as its implementation requires a good communications system, as well as
a strong and fast internet network. This obstacle is clearly evident in the responses
of the respondents, which amounted to 87%. The study recommended the use of
electronic management in public banks operating in the Sabratha Municipality
and the elimination of traditional management methods as soon as possible in
order to develop banking operations and eliminate waste of time and money.
